No Smoking Ban ... over at my place of employement
The new year at work is gonna bring over alot of new changes.
1) They are instituting a no smoking policy on the premises.
2) If we don't get anymore orders for C-17's then our doors will close in 2010 and yes, that means that I will be laid off.
I was just out and about reading different articles and came across this.
*for some reason the link isn't showing as a link... but you can click on the no smoking area sign*

The "W" in Christmas
Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience.
I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending.
Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas.
My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six year old.
For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school's "Winter Pageant."
I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there'd be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation.
All parents unable to at tend that evening were welcome to come then.
Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise.
So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats.
As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song.
Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer.
So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken aback by its bold title.
Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads.
Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song.
As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love."
The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".
The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W".
Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.
A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen.
In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities.
For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:
"C H R I S T W A S L O V E"
And, I believe, He still is.
Amazed in His presence... .humbled by His love.
Again, HAVE A BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON.

90210....
Saw the first 3 episodes of the new version 90210... ver. 2.0
Not bad... even with the shock value that I felt they were pulling on the first 10 minutes of the show.
I'm excited that Tori Spelling might finally get her chance to come to this show....
She deserves it... I mean, you think 90210 and you think of Aaron Spelling...

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL
If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card drawn by a school age kid and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.
This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time to do it, and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.

new Gmail account
I went ahead and got a gmail account, of course my sign in can't be lisita15, someone else has that... which I thought was strange. So, I have my new e-mail there instead of AOL. I notice that my sign in on my dashboard is beachmom15. Which is ok.. I haven't checked if my comments are going to AOL or gmail. I'll let you know how I like the service. Thanks for all the comments. You know that I am always behind, but I will answer them!

BIG SAD FACE
Well, it was quite sad yesterday. I went to my AOL journal and it was gone.. I am sure quite a few people went to theirs and felt the same way. I didn't know what time that would happen, but Geez, a little bit of notice of when.. I thought for sure at 12 midnight.. not like at 7pm.
Does anyone else think that the next step is e-mail??? I'm already thinking about what I would do.... I have other e-mails already, but I've had my AOL e-mail for about 10 years.. I started at AOL....
Another sad face.. I won't be going to see the BSB, but that's because they are playing at a place that is standing room only... What were they thinking??? Their fans aren't teeny boppers anymore!!! LOL... I know that they can't fill the big stadiums or arena's anymore, but they could have played at some where like the Greek Theater
Or somewhere else like the Gibson Amphitheater
I'm TOO old to stand for 2 hours for a concert!!!!
*Thanks D**

Movie Poster - Leo and AOL moves journals
OMG!!! I love this poster.. why?!?!? I have no clue.. except I do love Leo... I received the instructions on moving my journals over from AOL, it was easy.. I couldn't believe... I had no issues bring over my journals, they are private.. since I started this one, I'll just leave it. I did want to keep my old journals and that's why I brought them over...
I'm not sure what I think about this journal, I just hope they don't decide to close this site down. I don't know how long blogger has been here, but I'm hoping we won't go thru this again. I do love the autosave features and I love that you can add a playlist. Thanks for dropping by, I'll be writing back to your e-mails...hopefully this weekend, I'll have a chance to do that! Have a great Friday!!
