No Smoking Ban ... over at my place of employement

The new year at work is gonna bring over alot of new changes.
1) They are instituting a no smoking policy on the premises.
2) If we don't get anymore
orders for C-17's then our doors will close in 2010 and yes, that means that I will be laid off.

I was just out and about reading different articles and came across this.

*for some reason the link isn't showing as a link... but you can click on the no smoking area sign*

They passed a similar law in Tennessee last year and you would have thought the world was going to come to an end. I doubt well see a 40 % reduction like they did, only because Tennessee is always in the top 10 most obese, least healthful, and everything else lists. I guess it's a start though.

Since I work at a hospital, the smoking ban has been in effect for quite some time. There are a few designated areas to go to smoke. When the ban first came into effect, it was VERY strict with practicully no designated smoking areas. Then, as time has passed, there have been a few more designated smoking areas named.

My whole state has a no smoking in public places ban and I LOVE it! But, I have never been a smoker so it didn't really affect me personally. I am biased anyway due to watching my mom die from lung cancer and seeing my dad slowly die from COPD.

I hope things get better at your job!! My plant officially shut down on December 23rd. Sad days but I hope to move on to something bigger and better!

Good luck and happy new year!!
